Marina Halac is the Stanley B. Resor Professor of Economics at Yale University. Her research is in the areas of game theory, contract theory, and mechanism design. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009. She was on the faculty of Columbia University and the University of Warwick before joining Yale in 2018, and has been a visiting faculty at the University of Chicago. She is currently the editor of Econometrica, having previously served as a coeditor of Econometrica and Theoretical Economics and an editorial board member of a number of economics journals. She is affiliated with the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics and served as its Director from 2020 to 2023. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Academia Nacional de Ciencias Económicas, Argentina, and a fellow of the Econometric Society, the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, and the Centre for Economic Policy Research. She has been awarded several prizes for her teaching and research, including the Elaine Bennett Research Prize by the American Economic Association.
