Marina Halac is a Professor of Economics and the Director of the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics at Yale University. Her research is in the areas of game theory, contract theory, and mechanism design. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009 and was on the faculty of Columbia University and the University of Warwick before joining Yale in 2018. She is currently a coeditor of Econometrica and an editorial board member of the American Economic Review, having previously served as a coeditor of Theoretical Economics and an associate editor or editorial board member of Econometrica, the Journal of Economic Literature, the Review of Economic Studies, and Theoretical Economics. She is a fellow of the Econometric Society, the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, the Centre for Economic Policy Research, and the Academia Nacional de Ciencias Económicas, Argentina. In 2016, she was awarded the Elaine Bennett Research Prize by the American Economic Association.
