Jas Sekhon

Eugene Meyer Professor of Political Science and Statistics & Data Science

Jasjeet Sekhon is Professor of Statistics and Data Science and Professor of Political Science. He has conducted research on causal inference, machine learning, experimental design, and has worked on applications across the social sciences, including political science, economics, and epidemiology. His current research focuses on developing interpretable and credible machine learning methods for estimating causal relationships. He has extensive industry experience. He is currently the Head of Advanced Data Science at Bridgewater Associates. He comes to Yale from UC-Berkeley where he was the Robson Professor of Political Science and Statistics. Previous to Berkeley, he was an associate professor at Harvard University. He earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University and a B.A. (hons.) at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
