Evangelia (Eva) Chalioti is a Senior Lecturer II and Director of Teaching Support at Yale University. She received her PhD degree in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Her research revolves around competition, markets and innovation. She studies the Economics of Artificial Intelligence and how cutting-edge technologies transform business. Her research focuses on analyzing the effects of risk and the diffusion of scientific knowledge on firms’ incentives to innovate and compete. At Yale, she teaches microeconomics to large undergraduate cohorts, as well as courses on the Economics of AI and Competition in the MBA for Executives program at the Yale School of Management. She is the recipient of multiple awards for excellence in teaching. She served as Associate Chair of the Department of Economics for eight years and, following the completion of her term in 2025, continues as Director of Teaching Support. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning and a mentor at the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, advising startups. She also serves on the AI Task Force at the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce. She is a frequent speaker at international conferences and corporate forums, including Reuters, the National Association of Business Economics (NABE), the Consortium in New York, and the Society for Neuroeconomics.
