Work in the Time of COVID: Results from the Yale Labor Survey

Researchers created a survey based on the government monthly Current Population Survey, tailoring questions to gain insight into the labor market reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reviewing survey data to better understand labor market reactions to COVID-19, researchers found various labor trends within demographic groups. For example, they found that employment among women, less-educated, and younger workers was disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. This study was also meant to experiment with online surveys that provide information rapidly on the labor market and other complex population activity; researchers conclude that their survey provides support for the feasibility of such online surveys.
